Saudi Arabia Construction Facts & Figures


Saudi Arabia needs more than 2 million housing units, to cater to its growing population, as well as hospitals, schools, universities and leisure centers.
The country’s electricity sector will expand by 300% within the next two decades. More than 600 new factories are under construction. Telecoms sector is developed.
The water sector is upgraded, to include more desalination plants, better drinking water networks, and broadened pipeline networks.

Hundreds of projects are creating unprecedented demand for the latest construction industry machinery, technology and tools, from the world’s leading companies.
Companies from around the world are teaming up to vie for the Saudi Arabia ambitious in their next seven years projects plan.
A unique resort-style residential development is expected to take approximately nine years to be completed.

The construction industry is expected to expand by 6.71 percent during the seventh National Development plan.
Major construction projects in the petrochemical, petroleum, power, water and telecommunication sector, investment in these projects are estimated to be 30 billion US dollars.
New projects include multiple theme parks and hotels in addition to 55 new hospitals and 500 healthcare centers within the coming five years.
Tremendous investment projects will be available during the coming years for local and foreign investments in the Kingdom estimated to be 61 billion US dollars.
During the current seven-year development plan, 12 new desalination plants will be built, providing an additional 2.5 million cubic meters of water and 22 on going dam projects will be completed along with the start of 62 large, medium, and small dams.
The private sector will play a crucial role in the development of these projects.
